his latest CD/DVD Like A Metaphor

Why you should check this show out:
- Rob Szabo is a Toronto-based
singer-songwriter with a tendency to mix quirky lyrics with sweet melodious
acoustic arrangements.
- Like a Metaphor is Szabo's eighth CD and he
has fronted a variety of bands including Plasticine and the Groove
Daddys.
- The folky singer-songwriter is constantly on
the go, touring North America for most of the year in his van. "It's
just me on the road. I don't even have a tape player," jokes
Szabo. "Last year I did a huge summer tour where I went from
Toronto though to the West Coast and down to San Francisco. I've
driven all over the continent. My goal is to put half a million
kilometers on my van-I'm pretty close."
- His solo show is earnest and honest. Szabo
says he writes music for music lovers and he prefers to play for small
intimate crowds. "The smaller towns are really embracive of
singer-songwriters," says Szabo who has written about his experiences
on the road.
- In a track titled The Johnstown Kids, Szabo
tells the story of a group of kids form Johnstown,PA who he played a show
for. "It's such a small town and the kids are really into
music. It's such a big deal for them to have alive show there,"
says Szabo.
